Dr. Ed Adams, of Oak Harbor, is an emeritus faculty member of Washington State University Extension. He represents the Island County MRC on the Commission with an interest in helping farmers, forest owners and other landowners achieve conservation practices on their property that will protect Puget Sound. After five years in the Navy, Adams received a PhD in Plant Pathology from WSU. He taught farmers weed and plant disease management in dry-land cropping systems, coordinated WSU Extension’s water quality programming in eastern Washington and then provided administrative leadership for all of WSU Extension’s agriculture and natural resources programs. Adams is also currently serving on the Whidbey Island Conservation District Board of Supervisors. Now retired, he enjoys hiking and fishing on Whidbey Island.
