Franchesca Perez joined Snohomish MRC in 2011. She grew up near the beach and learned the hard way she needs quick access to the marine environment to be happy. Franchesca works as marine biologist for the Stillaguamish Tribe developing their Marine Stewardship and Shellfish Program. She holds a Master degree from Western Washington University, focused on marine and estuarine science, and has a broad base of science experience from ocean plankton research to molecular biology to larval crab ecology. In addition to the MRC, she currently serves on the Marine Debris Alliance and the West Coast Ocean Partnership. Outside of work, Franchesca is an amateur chocolatier, enjoys playing guitar, and takes her kids to the beach as often as they’ll let her.
