The Northwest Straits Commission hosted the Kelp Plan Action Workshop on March 1-2, 2023 to convene kelp partners to collectively assess the status, lessons learned, and next steps for actions within the Puget Sound Kelp Conservation and Recovery Plan (Kelp Plan). Puget Sound Kelp Conservation and Recovery Plan
This Puget Sound Kelp Conservation and Recovery Plan (Kelp Plan) provides a framework for coordinated research and management actions to protect these fundamental and iconic kelp species from a suite of global and local stressors. Successfully achieving kelp conservation and recovery will require a collaborative effort between our community of Tribes, managing entities, and stakeholders in Puget Sound. Additional collaboration with Canadian federal, provincial, and First Nation entities will support conservation and recovery efforts in the Puget Sound/Georgia Basin region.

Appendix C: Prioritized Data Gaps and Workshop Notes. This is an appendix of the Puget Sound Kelp Conservation and Recovery Plan. This document includes a list of prioritized knowledge gaps, which were prioritized based on their value in guiding decisions for kelp conservation and recovery strategies.
Northwest Straits Commission staff hosted four workshops between March 2018 and June 2019. This appendix includes agendas, attendee lists and notes from each workshop.
