Niki Kirihara

Niki Kirihara is the joint Events Coordinator for the Northwest Straits Commission and Coastal Training Program. Growing up on the beaches of Oahu, Hawaii, fostered her love for the ocean, which continues to inspire her work with Washington’s coastal communities and ecosystems. Niki holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies and a minor in Data Science from the University of Washington. She has coordinated citizen-science projects with the Coastal Observation and Seabird Survey Team and is passionate about enhancing science communication and promoting equitable community engagement in environmental education. She looks forward to contributing her skills and passions to advancing the mission of the Northwest Straits Commission.
