Rick Beauregard
Rick Beauregard Whatcom MRC representative to the Commission, is a retired marine scientist and environmental engineer with 40 years of consulting experience.
Rick’s early research at the University of New Hampshire contributed to one of the first studies of the 1972 red tide bloom. His career spans marine research in the Gulf Stream, Gulf of Mexico, and the Southern California Bight, along with environmental consulting across the U.S. and Alaska. Rick is an active member of the Drayton Harbor Shellfish Protection District Advisory Committee and has received the Drayton Harbor Watershed Steward Award.
He has served on various boards, including the Santa Catalina Island Conservancy, and was Chair of the Orange County Hazardous Waste Management Commission. A licensed Master Mariner, certified sailing instructor, and FEMA Incident Command-certified, Rick also served as Commodore of the Corsair Yacht Club. He holds a BA in Zoology from the University of New Hampshire and an MSCE in Environmental Engineering from California State University, Long Beach.
