Whatcom MRC
Alexi Guddal joined Whatcom MRC out of a lifelong passion for the Salish Sea and marine life, especially orcas. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marine biology from Western Washington University and completed graduate work in biology with a focus on conservation education and communication from Miami University. Alexi currently works in education and outreach at the Whatcom Conservation District, where partnering with the MRC supports her efforts to expand marine programming and connect people to our local waters.
Alexi enjoys working alongside others who care deeply about marine resources and being involved in public engagement. “I love getting to know other people passionate about our marine resources and connecting with the public about how cool our waters are and how we all play a part in stewarding them,” she said.
Bringing a blend of marine science and outreach skills to the MRC Alexi is especially proud of the MRC’s Beach Seine with Kids program. Some of her favorite Northwest Straits locations include Lime Kiln Point State Park, San Juan County Park, Little Squalicum Beach and Deception Pass. She hopes the MRC continues to be a space for people passionate about our coast, that can advise decision makers and can continue to create positive impacts for our waters and the people and animals that rely on them.
