Education and Stewardship
overview
In the Northwest Straits region, Marine Resources Committees provide opportunities to learn about marine issues and engage residents and visitors in stewardship activities such as community events, workshops, public speakers, and citizen science projects.
The Commission hosts an annual conference, bringing together members of the Marine Resources Committees from the Northwest Straits region, as well as project partners, agency staff, local leaders, and other invited guests. Held annually since 1999, the event also features field trips to local project sites and is a forum to share project results from MRC projects.
