Katalin “Katy” (pronounced KAH-tee) Chapman is the Program Coordinator for NW Straits Commission, helping keep meetings, projects, and day‑to‑day operations running smoothly. She previously served as a Senior Program Associate in El Pomar Foundation’s Fellowship program in Colorado.
Born in Germany and raised in Pennsylvania, Katy moved west for college and earned her BA in Anthropology from Colorado College in 2024. Since arriving in Washington, she has enjoyed getting to know the region’s marine ecosystems and is especially fascinated by the elusive nudibranch. Outside of work, Katy loves baking sourdough, exploring the trails and waters of Whatcom County, and spending time with other people’s pets.
