We’ve launched the updated SoundIQ!  This interactive, map-based tool lets users explore and download spatial data on nearshore species and habitats, such as kelp and eelgrass beds, across the Northwest Straits region. Supported by the Northwest Straits Commission, SoundIQ shares data collected by local MRCs and partners to support better understanding and management of coastal resources.

Originally launched in 2012, SoundIQ now features a fresh design and improved visuals, making it easier to navigate and use. The tool provides valuable insights for agencies, researchers, and the public.

Heads up! For the best experience please view on desktop or tablet. The mobile version will be optimized in the next few weeks.

Questions or feedback about the update can be directed to soundiq@nwstraits.org.
