Fidalgo Bay Day 2017
Fidalgo Bay Day is the annual flagship public outreach event for the Skagit MRC. 2017 was the 14th year and was again hosted at the Samish Indian Nation Fidalgo Bay Resort clubhouse. The purpose of this free annual event is to help increase public awareness of the marine environment and foster environmental stewardship. Visitors learn about the marine ecosystem and the plants and animals that live there. They also learn steps they can take to protect the waters of Fidalgo Bay and the larger Salish Sea.

Olympia Oyster Survey Data & Summary Report For Discovery Bay
Discovery Bay has a small natural Olympia oyster population. Jefferson MRC's goal is to enhance and expand that population by creating appropriate substrate in nearby areas and monitoring for recruitment. The project started in 2014 with distribution of shell within a half-acre tideflat project area surrounded by eelgrass. 2017 was the third year of monitoring for Discovery Bay natural recruitment at that site. Monitoring data was compiled and summarized in this report.

Pinto Abalone Recovery Project - 2017 Final Report to the Skagit MRC
Steps are being taken in an effort to help restore the pinto abalone population in northern Puget Sound waters in partnership with Skagit MRC, Puget Sound Restoration Fund (PSRF), and oversight from the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW). Adult broodstock abalone are collected from the wild and brought into hatcheries located at the NOAA Mukilteo and Manchester Research Stations.Almost 9200 of these healthy, genetically diverse hatchery produced juvenile abalone have been outplanted to six rocky reef sites in Skagit County waters from 2009 to 2017. This report summarizes the project and the numbers of abalone outplanted to the Skagit County sites.

Final Project Report On Olympia Oysters
This report details Olympia oyster restoration by Jefferson MRC in Discovery Bay and Quilcene Bay in 2016. Both locations had small populations present, the MRCs goal was to rebuild the populations that will eventually serve as source material to grow a sustainable meta-population in both bays. Nearshore Restoration Monitoring - Final Report 2016
This report summarizes the work of the Northwest Straits Foundation and Skagit MRC on the proposed biological and physical monitoring at nearshore restoration sites in Skagit County; Bowman Bay and Shannon Point. Whatcom Education and Outreach 2016 Summary Report
This report outlines the various educational and outreach activities by Whatcom MRC throughout 2016 including: participation in Whatcom Water Weeks, clam surveys in partnership with the Garden of the Salish Sea Curriculum, development of the Jerry’s Journey interpretive trail, and other annual local events.
